The 2017 McLoud High School Prom will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Proms are beautiful, fanciful, dream-come-true events that – unfortunately – come with an all-too-real-life price tag. The three main fund-raisers that allow the Junior Class to host this event for graduating seniors are the school-wide t-shirt/hoodie sale, Junior Dues, and Ticket sales.
Junior Dues: Juniors who are attending Prom need to pay Junior Dues. Dues are $40 per person. They must be paid before or at the same time as prom tickets are purchased. If your guest is a Junior, the dues obligation MUST be fulfilled before a Prom ticket will be sold. Guests who have graduated from McLoud or attend another school do NOT have to pay Junior Dues.
Tickets: The price of Prom tickets increases as Prom nears. Tickets are
$25 each in January; $35 each in February; $40 each in March
If you wait until late March to purchase your tickets, you run the risk of NOT receiving a gift bag at Prom. All items for prom must be ordered well in advance to be delivered on time. This is the reason it is so important to pay dues and buy tickets early. TICKET SALES END TWO WEEKS BEFORE PROM. NO TICKETS ARE SOLD AT THE DOOR.
Dress Code: Prom attire should be appropriate for the theme of prom. Prom is a formal event with formal attire. If you cannot afford appropriate clothing for prom, groups exist to assist. See Ms. Moore for a reference.
Shorts, cut-offs, jeans with holes, and clothing that is too small for your body type are inappropriate. If you arrive at prom in such clothing, you will NOT be allowed to enter and you will forfeit all money you have spent.
Guests: You may only bring ONE guest to prom. Ninth and 10th graders may attend prom ONLY with an upper classman. Guests may NOT be over the age of 20 and must also be appropriately attired. Guests who are not students of McLoud High School must complete a Guest Permission slip available from Ms. Moore. Permission slips must be returned to Ms. Moore two weeks before prom so that they may be reviewed by the principal.
